Commonly known as the American or Eastern oyster, Crassostrea virginica is the same species which is harvested from wild and cultivated beds along the entire eastern seaboard and Gulf coast of the U.S.. Cultured Glidden Point Oysters are from genetic broodstock selectively bred to be well adapted to cold-water growing areas. Our Glidden Points have a deep shell cup, large firm meat, and consistently excellent flavor year round. The shells are uniform in shape and size, making for wonderful presentations. Glidden Point Oysters TM are available in several sizes, and are well suited for a wide array of culinary delights.
